Aoa

Post by Joe Parish »

I am putting in a AOA in my right wing and considering going with a heated one. Much cheaper than heated pitot. I have been told people have ran a back up airspeed indicator off of them. If I go with a heated one do I go with a 12V or 24v? I thought most airplanes went with 24V but I am unsure. Thanks

Most homefuilt airplanes use the 12V system. More accessories are available in the 12V. I have a Dynon AOA without a heated pitot tube but I was not planning on IFR. Certainly the heated pitot has advantages but they sure do cost more.
