I'm helping Stu redo some wiring in the -6 he bought already flying...
He is wondering if the tabs on the seat supports are supposed to be riveted to the spar flange:
Anyone know?
I can't get the image to show ... have tried every url associated with it in my album ... ? help !?
I tried multiple things; cut and paste the image location via R click, via properties, etc.
I have had this problem before ... I wonder if it has something to do with me using Firefox instead of IE?
I just looked at Bill's plane. He has platenuts on each rib/spar connection. The Machine screw is to pass through the seat pan and hold it down at the front.
I don't have a pic. I hope that makes sense?

It's all over but the flying! 800+ hours in only 3 years!
The center ribs are screwd to the spar flange as they are to the spar web so you can get them out to install the control column. The outboard ones are riveted. I'll try to dig up come pics in a couple hours.
I am building an RV-6A and plate nuts are supposed to be used on the ribs and especially the short upper portion of the rib before it connects or is riveted to the fuselage spar carry through. The orginal builder should have given you the actual plans used in construction. If you don't have them see if you can get a copy from Van's for that factory serial NUMBER. They will charge you something but there have been plan revisions and you need plans that are relevant to that particular airplane. Mine was one of the last RV-6A kits and so my plans are somewhat different.
