Looking into installing my first nutplate. Anyone know of a way to dimple the nutplate holes without taking a grinder to the dimple die ?

Just curious. I'm now well into my wings (fuel tanks -- yuck!) and I've not had to dimple a nutplate because mine are already dimpled. Are you using an older kit? Where are you installing the nutplate?

Actually this is in the training kit. The nutplate is on the bottom of a 3 layer sandwich. Its basically skin, rib, nutplate. I think Im going to try and dimple the skin, countersink the rip, and see if I can not do anything to the nutplate. I hope to order the TK this week :)

I think Avery has a tool for this; check their catalog.

Thx, grant-
