Trim Reinforce plate 605

Post by gsimatos »

For the trim reinf plate 605, would you dimple or countersink it to accept the skin dimples?? I don't see an indication one way or the other on the plans Thanks Gary

I dimpled to accept the skin dimples for the access plate screws. I countersunk the rivet holes used to rivet the nutplates to the reinforcemnt plate. This is on a 9A though.

I was a little dissapointed about that when building my empenage, sure wish he'd inlcude enough in the tailfeathers instead of having to wait for the other kits..

Kinda makes you wonder how many are out there flying with the "fake" pins, huh?

I emailed ken at Vans and the real hinge pin comes with the FINISH kit which is sort of unusual. I figure since I am at the trim tab stage lets install and secure the pin now. Ya can't fight city hall but did complete the trim tab with the help of lots of that double sided tape. Empenage nearly done. Cheers Gary
