Rib hole

Post by CalKid »

Skin hole is fine but the rib hole is somewhat elongated. Guessing it moved as I moved some clecoes around. Is this a job for a whoops rivet or just deburr-dimple and go? Sorry no pict. available.

Thanks

DDG - Debur Dimple and GO!

The only issue you could have is the rivet may not set flat or it may not cover the dimpled hole(depends on how elongated). One being set like this ain't gonna have the airplane fall out of the sky! If it sets wrong and it bothers you, drill it out to a #30 and put in a OOOOPS rivet. You gotta remember that when a rivet expands, it will fill in any elongation.

Another option is to grab a slightly LONG rivet, squeeze it to the proper length and then hammer it.
