It says "if required; not provided with kit". How do I know if I need this?
If I buy new, it will more than likely be Mattituck. Aerosport is a close second, but we've had several engines done by Mattituck here at work for customers (we have a Cardinal engine on the floor right now, waiting to be hung). Always great service!dons wrote:An O-320 is a good choice, but have you decided who to get it from ?
I hope a couple of these are already made...prop type-constant speed (ordered CS spinner and hardware), prop manufacturer-Hartzell (for a little more weight up front), Paint scheme and colors has been decided for quite some time, and no it has not been changed, I'm just not sharing it, interior-that's still out, depending on the seatback material decision...Spike wrote:Oh come on guys. There is still:
Engine manufacturer
Prop type
Prop Manufacturer
Scheme & colors
Interior

I dont think we are done with the decisons yet.
And if your taking votes, I vote for Superior.
Thanks Jim! Finally is right!!!jim_geo wrote:First of all let me congratulate Chad for finding a place to land. Finally.
Now, for all you find a core guys. IMHO don't waste your time. Buy a kit and assemble it. If you buy a core you may (read that probably will) end up spending just as much or more on parts. So many possible hidden problems in core engines. So many down the road problems with used parts. With a kit engine there are very few things you need to check for dimensionally and from what I've found you're only double checking someone else's good work. With a kit engine it's new parts from the heads down to the last bolt. If you're inclined to turn wrenches I say go for a kit. Someone told me not so long ago "no one takes an engine off a plane because it's running sooo good". Remember guys and Mrs CoPilot this is just MHO and your results may vary.
Sure I did. I always figured you would end up with a Lyco just wasn't sure which one. The decision making part is just part of the process and a lot of the fun. We each get to choose what WE want, which is the way it should be. I had faith you would make a good choice.cjensen wrote:Thanks John! I think so too!
