Length of fuselage

Post by malvernridge »

Hi,

I have a question for one of my RV building chums who is in the process of building the fuselage.

Can you measure the following for me please.

I would like to know the length of the fuselage up to the engine cradle. (firewall back). I know the overall length is 20' 4.5" but I have to manouvre around a couple of things in my workshop. Knowing this will help me get organised.

It would also help to know the length without the Empenage fitted as well.

Thanking you in anticipation.

I asked the same exact question last week, over on another RV forum. Sounds like you and I are in the same situation, on limited space!?

I asked for the fuselage length for an RV-7, although they should all be about the same (I think). :?

16' 4.5", from the firewall, back to the end of the fuselage. In other words, no engine mount or anything else is included in the dimension. Just from the firewall back. Hope this helps? :)

Hi Gary,

Perfect, much appreciated. :)

I have a double garage but share it with someone else, won't bore you with the details.

I am building some benches and knowing the length of the fuselage helps me plan the room in the garage for approx 2 years.
