Tail nav light

Post by flywulf »

Hi all,

I have my rudder mounted (RV_7A)and rigged but, I noticed one thing is missing. There is no hole for running the wires to the tail nav light/strobe light assy.

Did I miss it or is this ad-hoc? Where is the best place to locate the hole in the verticle stabilizer aft spar?

Also, any tips or techniques for running wires?

thanks,

Ed

Hi Ed,

Here is where I passed my wire through:

And here is the page describing how I did it:

Hope that helps,

I punch a hole below the lower edge of the VS spar. This way the rudder and VS could be removed without pulling any wire. I can snap a pic tomorrow if you need it

In my 9A, I put a connector inside the rudder fairing so I can pull the fairing, pull the plugs apart, then pull the rudder. As far as routing the wiring through the VS, yeah that's pretty much ad hoc.
