Guys just got the FABox. The union between the box and the cowl looks like a bag of snakes at first blush. did it ultimately work out?? Looks like you would need to be a brain surgeon or at least a dentist (nothing against denstists) to make a tight and safe union between box and cowl. Any comments would be appreciated, Cheers Gary
It was not hard to do. Looks harder than it really is.
Cut the FAB inlet back from the cowl inlet the same distance as the foam block they give you in the kit. I think it is like 2". Put some 5 minute epoxy blobs on the foam to hold it in place. Put the cowl with the foam block back on the airplane and use a long thin knife or saw blade to carve out the hole in the foam. Lay up some fiberglass on the inlet and foam and you are mostly done. You'll need to cut back the new fiberglass about 1/4" to leave a gap between the FAB and cowl inlet.
Lots of pictures and commentary on the process on my web site
