This may be a stupid question, but, What is "rivet tap"?

My guess, that was Rivet Tape

HaHaHa, dummy me!!! Thought there was some secret way of pounding rivets without marring the surrounding skin.

There is! Put some masking tape on the face of the flush rivet set.
