My $1000 tool purchase

Post by 1:1_Scale »

So here's some pics of what I got used from a local builder for 1K:

There's some other little tools in the cabinet, like a dimpling tool for use with a pop rivet puller, and some seaming pliers that he's still using that I'll get later :) What do you think, fair deal?

Here's some pictures of my shop (it still needs some work  ):

The car and scooter belong to my employee that moved down with the business. His new place doesn't have a garage yet, so I ugess part of my shop prep is going to be helping building his garage/shop :headscratch: 1/2 of the stuff on the shelves is his too, so there should be plenty of working space in the future :)

You better hide that wiring before CJ gets his eyes on it! :)

Hahahaha,

Thomas, As I reviewed the pics, I chose to ignore the sub panel!

Kel, those tools look like a great deal!

The workspace should be fine when it is all cleaned out.

You are off to a good start!

Was it a good deal? Looks to me like he got ripped off.

Naa, he's got enough yokes and squeezers and a c-frame there to make it worth it. Looks like allot of small but expensive stuff in the trays as well.

The irony with that is, we had to *illegally* wire the second box (Tony's box that he brought for his welder) into the fuse panel so we could modify the welded in shelves that covered the fuse panel, blocking the access that the building code requires  When we bought the place, it had those shelves (built ON the wall) around the perimeter of the building. These ones went all the way around the corner to the edge of the wall, with a bar going straight across the fuse panel (they left the door off so you could still reach the breakers).

A more permanent solution will be had when the compressor room gets finished :)

Spike, I was gonna ask you what what else you would like to see as far as tools. I don't know what I'm missing until I need it

Kelly,

Dont know if you saw it, but I think you got a swinging deal. The guy ripped off in this was the dude who only wanted $1K :-D

As for what else you will want, lots more clecos, and I didn't see many rivet sets for your hand squeezer.

Yeah, I saw that  There are quite a few rivet sets in the plastic drawers (I think they're in second tool pic, in the drawer on the right, but covered up by a plastic bag). I think Mike said he had some more clecos, but I'm not 100% sure, or what size they were. I guess we'll find out when I get to the wings, huh?
