Workshop Done !!

Post by Spike »

After a few months of working in the basement my "airplane factory" is finally finished and online. I hadnt touched the area since we built the house and moved in. Finally the boxes are gone and I have an area to start cutting metal and banging rivets !!

Here are some shots:

Spike!
It looks good. I envy you the amount of room. I'm busy trying to clear out two dirtbikes before I get going on the RV-8. I posted here on the RV-8 Section tonight, and then realized I should have posted my query in the general Construction Section. Oh well.

Ive always dreamed about putting a nice workshop together. Now the RV has given me a reason. I can easily construct the tail and wings down here. What I havent figured out is how to get the fuse taken care of. Maybe Ill have to get a new home before then :bang:

Spike,
The shop looks nice. But where's the TV? Everyone laughs at my hangar (some mistakenly call it a 2 and a half car garage) because it has a TV with cable. But my favorite building times are when there is a sporting event in which I am interested going on in the background while I am working on the plane. To be honest, I hardly keep up with the game, but it is nice having it on in the background anyway.
I also have a window AC unit in the hangar. But hey, I live just outside New Orleans. It's a necessity!

No Tv for me ...

Post by Spike »

No TV for me, if I had one I would never build anything. I opt out for a radio. I like using it as background noise and to keep me from feeling to, uh, alone. Kind of odd I guess. Not that I havent been called an odd ball before.

If this is his work site then I can't wait to see the end result of all the building. It should be good. Is that the nearly completed EMP. up on the top there I can see?

Come on over anytime!

I built the garage specifically for the plane. I am methodical like that.

That is the recently started emp. It looks like this now:

The outside of the shop looks like this:

I built it all myself from foundation to roof in 2 years!

Sure do. I hope we can grow this one to be sizable. I would to be able to get all of that collective knowledge and community into one nice big group.
