#12 Drill

Post by Snap »

Isn't it annoying when construction has to stop becuase you don't have a #12 Drill bit. Do you think I can get one anywhere? Not a chance. So....Once again I had to place and order for tools from the States. :bang:

I got stuck in the EXACT same spot Snap! I remember it like it was yesterday! I was cruisin' along, then I came to a screeching halt...because I didn't have a #12 bit.

Check your drill size chart, Snapper.

#12 is 0.189"
3/16 is 0.1875"
4.8 mm is 0.189"

maybe you can find one of those others down there.

A little pricey, but I recommend getting a numbered drill bit set - I bought #60 thru #1 in a set. Now I never have to get stuck waiting for a drill bit. Would be even more valuable if I was a long shipping time away!

Get some #41s and #31s for drilling out rivets. Using the slightly smaller bit will reduce the chance you will damage the holes.

A 1/8" is way more easy to get locally than a #31.

It works just as well!

Wow! I get pissed when I have to drive five minutes into town to get a drill bit. I guess I've got it good not only am I fairly close to a good old fashioned hardware store (one of those 120 year old local family run type) but they also carry individual numbered bits. Guess I'll think about Snap next time I have to travel down the street.
