angle drill

Post by gsimatos »

I borrowed a buddys angle drill, what a pleasure to use. He told me it was a Cleaveland clone. When i search the web I see lots of cheapies out there but when it comes to tools you get what ya pay for. Have any of you got an angle drill you are happy with and can you tell me the make and where to get hold of one?? Thanks G

I bet he meant Chicago Pnu clone.

I got mine used surplus from Brown Tool. In fact, I used it yesterday. It is one of those tools that you only need it when you really, really need it!

Money well spent, IMHO.

You can always find angle drills on Ebay fairly cheap. Usually aerospace surplus that means they are generally high quality units. I have a couple of them plus a 45 deg. drill which is very useful as well.

I got my 90deg drill from yardstore.com
I have wondered if the 45deg would be more useful; I have used the 90 a handful of times but there are lots of times when the handle gets in the way ... it seems like the 45 might be a better all around tool. Thoughts?

I have found the 45 deg. drill very useful but there have been occasions where it would not fit and I needed the 90 deg. drill. I am glad I have both.

I got mine from Avery. It was a bit pricey, but worth its weight. When you need one, nothing else will do.

I got a good deal from brown tool on a Taylor extended reach 90* drill motor. Great tools from Taylor. Drilled off the safety stop on the trigger first thing.

Pan American has a good selection of drill motors, and the best assortment and prices on threaded drill bits.
