quick release drills

Post by gsimatos »

I got a bag of Boeing surplus drill for Fathers day. The drill ends all have clyndrical ends with 6 shallow holes where you would insert the end into the drill press. Does anyone know what type of drill these would be and where to get an adapter to accept this kind of drill?? I have lots of good sizes and several are very long but I don't want to wreck them in a regular drill. Thanks G

I have a bunch of these drills and love them. You can get an adapter from Cleveland Tools to replace you drill chuck. I have one drill with a normal chuck and one with a QC chuck. I also found countersink cages with QC shafts on Ebay. The drill with the QC chuck is smaller and lighter than the one with the normal chuck and I use it most of the time.
