Rivet Remover

Post by CalKid »

Wondering what opinions are out there regarding the Cleveland Rivet Remover. Are they that much safer than standard technique for removing universal rivets for example?

I have one and it works as advertised. It won't do anything you can't do without it but it does make it a easier to center the rivet. I have had about a 95% ratio of being able to drill the heads off using it and then tap out the rest with the punch. Of course I probably have to drill more rivets out than most so get a lot of practice.

I got it as a Christmas present. Come to think of it, maybe the wife was trying to tell me something. :o
