DRDT-2

Post by Joe Parish »

From those of you that have one or have used one, is it worth the money over a regular c-frame dimpler? It is obviously less noisy but are the dimples actually better or more consistent? Thanks

The DRDT and an pneumatic rivet squeezer were the two best tools I purchased for building my 7. The DRDT is well worth the money IMHO...yes, you will get completely consistent dimples, and it's QUIET... 8)

Looking back now, I have to agree on both items with Chad. I didn't get the DRDT and wish now that I had. It's tough to be consistent with the C Frame whacker and get every dimple exactly like you want it.

Thanks for the input guys, much appreciated. You convinced me. Twisted my arm to spend some money on tools! HaHA

Chad thanks for the link to the DRDT-2. I called him and I told him I wanted it and he said he also had a pneumatic squeezer I believe I will buy them both. He has built two RV's (both eights) with the tools. Just waiting for him to get back to me on the shipping cost. Looking like a great deal so far. I will let you know when everything is final. Thanks

I called on the ad that Chad had a link to in previous post and ended up getting the DRDT-2 for $200 & a pneumatic squeezer for $250( He bought it from Cleveland Tool, made in USA) I also got 100 more clecos, never seem to have enought when building both wings at once. Shipping hurt a little $63 to ship from Spokane Washington to South Dakota. Total bill with shipping and clecos is $533.58 which for those two tools seems pretty good. It assured me they were in like new condition. I feel it was a good deal. I guess I owe Chad a fruity beer next year at Osh!
