Spray gun

OK, I know very little about paint spraying...
I just need a cheap sprayer to prime parts; people have said they got an HVLP gun cheap from Harbor freight.
Is gravity feed better / easier to use than those with the cup on the bottom?
Any specific recs?

I use my gravity gun exclusively. I have an Ingersoll Rand detail gun with maybe a 6 oz. cup and it is slick!
I like it because it is so easy to clean. Shoot it empty and run some thinner through it. Wipe it down and you are done!

I just purchased a "cheap" HVLP gun with an external tank from Harbor. This gun will allow spraying in tight spaces as well as upside down. This gun uses air from a compressor, so it's advisable to have filtration from water and oil. An inexpensive in line dissicant filter just before the gun will help too.
Can't beat it for the price, and performance is good.
Polyurathanes are easy to spray, and even with a cheap gun will come out looking good. A friend just finished painting the wings on his Pietenpol, with the bottom low buck Harbor model, and it looks like a pro did it.
