Hi all I have alodined all my wing ribs a couple of weeks ago now, they've been hanging in a relatively clean environment since.

What do I need to do before I prime with Akzo?

Can i just blow them clean and paint, do i have to strip and realodine or Is there a simple reactivation process for conversion alodine like just redipping?

I don't want to find out later when all my primer starts flaking off I should have redone the whole process. but I don't want to waste time on unessary processes.

Has anyone succefully painted aged alodine with akzo and either had issues or not?

Shoot the primer on and it will be fine. I usually waited a day or two between alodine and primer. Handle everything with nitrile or latex gloves just to keep your fingers from touching the parts.

Thanks Bruce, I gave them all a quick wipe with thinners and then shot all the primer for all wing ribs L and R, so glad to be able to pick them up again bare handed again. Akzo is great stuff, thought I'd just check before painting so I didn't end up with a major failure.

You shouldn't have any problem.
