My boss is a slave driver! Stays on me 24 hours a day except when I work on the plane, then he seems to slip away for a while.
I am self employed and work with computers mainly on the software side of things. Currently have two companies, one is a small web hosting company and does web programming and the other is a partnership with a nephew where we do outsourcing for IT solutions for businesses under 40 million in sales, considered to small for most of the big players.
It treats me pretty well but there are times when I'm to busy to work on the plane for a week or two at a time. I can makeup for it when it slows down though.

I'm a network and systems administrator for McClatchy Newspapers. I handle the local and wide area networks as well as the Windows servers. Also do some light UNIX admin. I'm based at the Modesto Bee and support mainly them but I can and have been called to provide support at the Sacramento Bee and the Fresno Bee.
Currently employed but looking for work in or around Nashville or Clarksville Tennessee. So if you hear of anything...
I'm a veterinarian...work on small animals for the most part and horses. Spent many years previous to this working in Alaska with Reindeer...thus the call sign, and flew as a bush pilot part-time...

From 1985-90 I was in the Navy working in the airframes shop of an E-2C squadron and occasionally taking care of the C-2A COD (Carrier Onboard Delivery) aircraft.
I did a MED cruise on the Theodore Roosevelt (CVN-71) Nov 96 to May 97. I was w/ VMFA-312. Not sure what Hawkeye squadron was w/ the CAG. I think they called themselves the "screwtops" and the mascot was a dragon of some sort.
I am currently an Air Traffic Controller at Denver Center.
Had a RV-9 fly through yesteday landing Rapid City, I got all excited!
All the Navy maintainers were real cool. Real down to earth. We always shared turn screens and different supplies. Made the cruise a blast. By far, that one carrier deployment I did was one of the best memories I have of my time in the Corps.
Hi,
Well this is my first post on RivetBangers and I suppose its a good forum to introduce myself, As for my day job I'm currently a Project Manager for a Defence Contractor here in Australia involved in Aerospace Systems Integration but before I rode a desk for a living I was an Avionics/Weapon Specialist in the Royal Australian Air Force for 14 Yrs. I've maintained Dassault Mirage IIIO, F/A-18 Hornet, UH-1H Iroquois, S-70A-9 Blackhawk, Pilatus PC-9, AS350 and Kiowa.
I'm currently flying my PA-38 whilst buliding an RV-8 and am looking forward to halving cross country trip times,
I'm a research engineer/project manager at the Volpe Center in Cambridge, MA. We build experimental sensor and navigation systems for the FAA and other government organizations. Right now I'm working on ADS-B avionics and ground system modeling and design. Before that, I was a Flight Test Engineer in an FAA aircraft certification office working on Sikorsky S-76 and S-92 certification flight testing, and on several bizjet test programs as well.
Les, there's a Tony Setser - my cousin - who works in the same area (I think) on F-22 at the Marietta plant. Does the name sound familiar?

Yes I do know Tony. He's in Design I beleive and I'm in Manufacturing Engineering. As a matter of fact I have an assignment from him I have to work on. Small world ain't it!!!! -- Les
Wow, compared to the rest of you guys, my job is pretty boring.
I'm a Common Criteria evaluator -- for those who have no clue what that is, I do independent security evaluations of various computer hardware and software products.

So what your saying is you get to "snoop" and "hack" systems to test their integrity ? Sounds like fun to me
I'm an Airline Captain with a company called MyTravel in the UK. We are one of the top 3 holiday companies in the UK serving the Med, Florida, Carribean, Vegas and Canada during the summer and most of the same with Maldives, Goa, Thailand and China in the winter.
I fly Airbus A330, 320 and 321 but have flown a lot on 757 and 767.
My bro and I are half way through a QB RV7, Mattituck IO-360, LASAR, dual Dynons, Digitrak, Garmin stack, usual crap.
I am fortunate that I can source a lot of stuff on your side of the pond and bring it back in the trunk !
To Rivetbangers Mike!! Nice to see this forum is starting to grow to friends in other nations! I know we have several represented already, but tell everyone you know about this place!! Looking forward to seeing some pics of your project!

99% paperwork and report-writing, 1% snooping and hacking; although the 1% is definately worth it.
I'm extremely fortunate to have two great flying jobs. I guide Boeing's wonderful 757/767 around the skies of the USA and Europe, and I teach folks how to fly the Aero L-39 Albatross jet. I also operate a video production company (which is doing a lot of airplane-related stuff, lately).
Apparently this is not enough aviation for me, which is why I'm building my RV-8.
And to answer your next question: No, I'm not married...
aboard Buck!! You do have quite the career going there! I know a guy that has an L-39, and I've always had a "thing" for those airplanes! They look like a lot of fun!
