A good vacum used frequently. Im a bit picky about my workshop space as far as organization and cleanliness. The cats also like to visit and watch, and they dont mind chewing on aluminum, so I vacum quite frequently. Not that much of an issue really.

Building a plane in their room sure sounds like a sure fire way to keep the inlaws at bay for a couple of years!Spike wrote:Yes. The house has a fully finished inlaw suite in the basement. That is where I am building.

Good progress Spike! That ride must have really fired you up!
I think the part you are working on right now, initial wing assembly and match drilling, is probably my favorite part of the build so far. It finally started to feel like I was building an airplane.
Riveting those top skins and seeing it with no clecoes is a great feeling.

(slowly) catching up with Spike...
Sorry about the crowded, blurry picture. That's what you get trying to photograph big airplane parts in a small garage with a cheap camera.

As you can see I'm building both wings at once. I'm hoping to use the tables in the foreground for leading edges, dimpling, tanks, etc.
I have got the wings into the stands, but not yet locked down. These are JohnR's stands (thanks John!) and I have noticed that the spacing between the front and rear spars on his wing and my wing seem to be the same. That surprised me because he is building a -7 and I am building a -9.
I thought the -9 wing was skinnier, so maybe the nose ribs are shorter?
Thanks for the inspiration Spike!

sure - that's what work is for!!
Yesterday I figured out that I need 1375 clecos if I want to put one in every other hole in both wings!
Maybe I should get more sleep...

Dave, I did the same as Thomas. I used a few more along the spar but only about every 4th hole os so on the skins. When I did the leading edges I also did ever other hole. Worked out fine for me. Still takes a lot of clecoes though.
Call Cleaveland today, you'll have them tomorrow!
