Although I always enjoy camping at OSH, I would consider a house if it is decent and not too pricey, otherwise I will be camping as usual.

I camped last year in the Vintage aircraft camping lot, and it was good for camping. I am not a camping fan, (I never understood why people would go on vacation and pretend to be homeless!) but it was neat.

Lots of nice people to talk to, and it is very close to AS square.

I would do it again, but only for a couple of days. If I stayed longer, I think I would go for the dorms.

Are you guys going for all week, or what is the plan?

Yeah, the camping option burned me out a bit at Sleepy Hollow with heat/humidity/mosquitoes last year. Their advertised 'wooded' tent area was just an open field rimmed with trees that offered no shade. Other years I've tried Scholler, Circle R (2 mi south - best camp ground with tree area in back for tents), Dartford Inn in Green Lake/Ripon (so nice to have a/c! at night). This year I'm trying the dorms too, for a different experience. Have seen posts describing the positive camaraderie there too, as with Scholler.
I'll be up either Wed or Thurs-Sat, so an Otter vote for later in the week also.

Hmm, might have to jump on this bandwagon too. So, are the dorms, errr, uhh, woman friendly?

We're going to buy a travel trailer and haul it to OSH. Anybody ever done that? I don't know nuttin' about trailers. Are there specified places on the grounds for trailers?

Far as I know, they are all "co-ed" with separate facilities on each floor.

I haven't pulled a trailer up there, but did drive a motorhome up there three years ago. Anywhere you want to set up shop in Scholler...it's open to all types of campers. The only area that may be desirable with a camper, is the 24 hour generator area, but it is typically full very early on...like before the show opens. The rest of Scholler allows them, but they have to be shut off at 10pm. At least that has been the rule in years past.

I think I would rather be camping (although I am not a camping man like Chad points out). Chad brought up a good point about being spoiled by not having any rain last year during my first camping trip to OSH. So the dorms don't sound so bad now... but I will miss being really close to everything though!

Looking forward to the Otter if that is where we end up going for dinner.

Spike, I believe I read that the dorms are co-ed so feel free to bring extra women for the rest of us. Oh... and bring a guy for Chad. I think he is going fruity... or is that his choice in beers... I forget.

Hey I live just outside San Francisco, where they have just about outlawed red meat in favor of some form of tofu. The point I am trying to make is that I rely on the Otter for a large portion of my annual beef consumption.

I need a spotted cow!!!

Hey All,

I suppose I need to chime in on this one too. Sorry for my lack of presence.

My personal life has been a bit turbulent but you can't shake me that easily! I have been keeping current and will be resuming the build soon! The fuse is back in the garage and I am reading the manual again. Money is short, but I have all the canopy stuff on hand already. That should keep me busy for a while this summer!

That being said, I will LIKELY GO TO OSH again this year too!

You guys are all getting soft in your old age!!! What's the problem with camping!?! I might even ride the bike out again this year.

If you do end up with a house, I could be swayed.

I need my Otter fix too! I'm going to starve for a week so that I can impress you all once again with my eating skills!

Patti and I just booked a room at a B&B for the 26th - 1st. The rest of the house is available if people are interested. It sounded like a nice place and has a swimming pool.

This is the web site with the contact information.

We stayed with Tamara 2 years ago and were very happy with it. This year her house is filled but she also manages another B&B where Patti and I going to be this year. She said it actually has nicer rooms than she does should it be a good place. Its in Neenah.
