So, can us RV12'ers join you at the Black Otter or are we relegated to the kid's table at the Grey Squirrel? :mcd:

BTW, for us newbies, where is the Black Otter?

While I haven't been to the Otter...yet. I'm certain they are a non-denominational bunch. So if you are pulling rivets, that's close enough to learn the secret handshake.

Looking forward to my first OSH and Otter experience

For those first timers who wish to attend the Black Otter Rivet bangers experience, it is located on South Nash St. in Down Town Hortonville, WI. It is about 40 Minutes from OSH. It is a big help to let us know if you are committed to attending so that the management knows what to expect. Painless has graciously agreed to maintain the "list." Some of us are coming from Camp Scholler and may have room for those in need of a ride. I personally have a Suburban with a couple extra seats and can accommodate some if needed.

The bill of fare includes prime rib. The smallest- the "Queen" is a 32 ounce prime rib. They work up to 160 ounce. (that is not a typo) They do have other menu items but the PR is excellent and part of the ambiance of the evening.

Going to the Otter is sort of a right of passage for Rivetbangers.

Ok Gang, just found out that Vans is doing their dinner on Tuesday night as well. I assume that we do not want to compete with that, so we need to change our Otter night.

How does Wednesday night sound? Monday night is also a possibility if the group agrees, but count me out. Not gonna miss seeing Chicago......

Chime in here guys so we can make an official date.

Here is the list of attendees so far:

Jeff Orear
Mike Orear
Eric Severson and two other buckers
Chad Jenson
The Chad Dad
Joe Ferraro
Brad Oliver
Jim Pappas (I'm keeping you counted for so far Jim)

Im ok with any other day Painless...except Monday. I am with you on the concert. If I recall we have done it on Thursday night in the past and that seemed to work out well. For what is worth.

I probably won't be able to make Wednesday...I'll be picking my wife up at ATW around 1930.

Jeff, did you find out when Van's will be selling tickets? Still no info on their website...

Cheers,

Dave:

There was a guy on Doug's site that had called Vans regarding the dinner. He said that they would be announcing it in a couple of days, so keep checking their website for details.

If we were to have our outing on Thursday, could you and your wife make it? Wednesday is not cast in stone just yet.

There is a pretty good chance I can make it again this year from Monday-Wednesday. Although it sounds like I will miss the Black Otter (I might have to go solo), it is still worth the journey!

Any chance I could bum a corner is someones tent for two nights? CJ knows I pay my share in liquid gold!
