Some major MVP (Major Visual Progress) did happen, but not until later in the week. First I had to visit my house up north.
While I was there, the Russkie was looking for a place to eat. He ordered eggs but changed his mind when he saw my special spaghetti alla puttanesca!
The weather was great! He took Michele and I for rides.
The ice went out UNUSUALLY early while we were up there! I think it was the first time in CENTURIES that it disappeared so early! The local children were wading in slushy ice water because the air temps were in the 70's and it felt like summer!
Note the steely glance of the Russian aviator!
A couple of flights proved the winter was really over and the ice was disappearing FAST!
There is no more snow around my little house and it has all turned to runoff. This is my getaway house (the one that looks like a church) in Rangeley, Maine. Maybe this summer I will host an RV Fly-in up there? I have 6 beds in there so we have room for some to spend the night if you like! I also could set up others at the B&B down the street.
We went Moose hunting in the Jeep later in the evening. Vlad had never seen a moose before. He got a few shots off while he was there!
It was then time to come back home and work on the plane. Before I left, the prop went on. We were a little scared that it wouldn't fit correctly...
But in the end, it looks like things will be just fine.
Time for a Harpoon to celebrate. It is Wyatt's favorite! I will be bringing a case of these to OSH for everyone to try in case you haven't ever experienced the BEST ALE EVER!!! Monday night is ale tasting night... right?
The RV got a little sunlight on it's skin while I cleaned the shop.
I had to spin it around in order for the wings to be installed.
Now I need to focus on the systems that are associated with this part of the build. I suppose now I am at the "90% done and 90% to go" part of the build that Mikey Bullock talks about!
Time to get cracking! I still have all weekend left. Maybe I can get the wings drilled?
