confirmed - procedure error

sometimes I place my phone and spare tablet on the wing before pulling the plane out of the hangar, in this way I eliminate having to open the canopy to put them inside. once I'm in the plane, with the canopy open, I reach to the wing and retrieve them. however, this is the 3rd time in 1000 flight hours that I left them on the wing and departed. this confirms that I cannot manage this procedure. I should have corrected this procedure after the first round. if you make a mistake once, you will make it again unless you make a corrective action. no more items to be stored on the wing.
