well, that printed well out of the gate with a nice fit. strong grip on the clamp end. time for some drop testing. I am going for a 10 foot drop. that should do it.

OUDEW canopy breaker mount successfully tested to 40g in all orientations in sequential testing except upwards, as that orientation was difficult to set up. Testing to 24g was straightforward, but achieving 40g required mount design and print-style adjustments. The 40g test involved a 10-foot (120-inch) drop onto 3 inches of foam. 120 drop distance/3 stopping distance = 40g. Guides were used at the top to ensure a straight drop, and a lanyard string helped contain any subsequent bounces. I can only estimate the upwards g capability at this time, but I believe it could meet 24g.
I am currently evaluating optimal cockpit placement for the canopy breaker mount.
I've decided to remove the OUDEW lettering on the printed mount in the future. The lettering was scratching the backs of my fingers. At least I learned something from the testing!
