Aviation costs in Tennessee

Post by svanarts »

So far I am LOVING Tennessee! I was wondering if there are any RB'ers in TN or know of any? I'm wondering what kind of taxes if any you have on aircraft in TN. Giving very serious thought to relocating the family to this fine state.

Excellent area to live Scott. If it were not for needing a high tech job I would be living there today. Ive been to TN a few times and am in love with the place.

After living all my life about in the middle of the two oceans, I really miss it. Out here on the left coast it costs so much to live. Taxes on the over priced home, over priced state taxes, higher energy costs, and the one that really gets me, my property tax on my airplane!!! Every year!

When I lived in Oklahoma my plane registration was $10 or $15 for my '46 cessna. Homebuilts were the same. Out here, a minimum of 1% of the appraised value of the plane. Appraisial is done by the county...

eerrrrrr, don't get me started. :x :bang: :x

Don't forget I work in hi-tech too. If you call a network administrator hi-tech. There are tons of technology jobs in the Nashville area and after visiting, I may just take the first one that makes an offer. :)

I ain't becoming an Easterner, I've always been a Southerner. I'm just coming back. :)

Hopefully. :luv:
