I hear ya Andy,
I've been in a few situations where it was uncomfortable to say the least.
When we (our local formation group) usually bring someone new on board to start training on formation, one of us sits right/rear seat as a safety pilot until they progress to a point they can be safe on their own.
I really like your attitude, and would welcome you into the world of formation and help you achieve the skills to be proficient at it if we lived closer to each other. If you look at the FFI website, I'm sure you could find others in your area qualified to help get you there.
It's really rewarding to nail a position in the diamond slot and have the crowd watch as you pass overhead.

Thanks Dave, I appreciate that. I think it's a skill worth learning for sure. I plan on seeking out some formation, as well as some acro training when the time comes. As an aviator, I want to learn as much as I can, then pass it on. Keep our community growing, while keeping it safe.
