Glad to hear it went well this morning Ian. Staying in a hospital as a patient isn't much fun after the first, oh, 2 hours as I recall, keep getting better. Do they let you have a computer in the room, or is there some common area where you go in order to keep us up to date ?

Ian, hang in there dude. I'm just glad it sounds like things are getting better. Hospitals are a pain but I'm sure glad they are available when we need them.

Get well Dude.

When I was in the hospital last year, I came to some realizations that many people are fortunate enough to understand without having to flirth death to realize. Health is a fickle thing, and despite what we "invincible" types might think, many times we are not able to adaquately make decisions regarding things like time to leave, being healed, etc.

Be patient and rest.

Boy Ian, with all the surgeries you have had, you would think they would just put in a zipper! :)

I sure hope they release you soon. It is pretty clear that there are a bunch of guys in this forum that are thinking of you and wishing you the best.

That can be healing in itself.

thanks for the kind words folks....

I've been feeling pretty rough this weekend; the antibiotics have been tearing my stomach up. My surgeon is supposed to be in to speak with me tomorrow, and he'll tell me what his game plan is for closing up this wound and getting me recovered to go home. Hopefully it won't be too much longer!

Finally, some good news!

That is good news Ian, hope it goes well and you get home real soon. It will be a whole lot easier to sleep at night at home, there might be a few more distractions when you are awake, but I'm sure you can deal with being out of the shop for a few more days :) Don't rush it, you've been through a lot.

I'm still not home... they did the surgery real late last night. I'm wrapped very tightly around the chest with an ace bandage, and I have a surgical drain STAPLED to my belly, and it hurts :(

They should discharge me today. I'm gonna be pretty uncomfortable for the next week or so, though.
