Happy New Year and a past due Merry Christmas.

Man the Holidays are hard on RV building time!!!!!

That and the fact that this is the coldest it has been around here this early in the winter for years!

I was at the hangar today for a few hours. I can survive as long as I have my 50K BTU propane infrared heater going close by. I found out that those tank exchange's are a ripoff. The are never full! I now go to the local gas company for refills. They are about half the price and they fill them all the way up!

Did anyone know that old T hangars are possibly the coldest places on Earth in the Winter?

It seems to be taking forever to finish this thing. I am shooting for flying in March! Wish me luck!!! I hope to take a weeks vacation late January early Feb...Make a huge push for getting ready for inspection...

Everyone seems to be making good progress. I think there will be several first flights in 2010....

In Tennessee??

How cold can Tennessee really get? Today it is around zero here in Iowa. I imagine its even colder in Minnesota. I have a propane torpedo heater for the hanger and it works OK as long as its aimed directly at me. I always take my tank to the local station to have it refilled as exchanging it is indeed very expensive.

Oh it can get to below 0 but not very often.

You have to remember that we are not raised on 10ft of snow and sub 0 temps.... Our bones can't take it :o

The tank exchange is only a good deal if you have an old tank close to the expiration date.

I installed a ceiling hung furnace and did the gas piping myself.

The company that delivers the gas supplies the tank and just bills me.

It works out pretty good. I keep the place at 45 degrees when it is unoccupied to prevent corrosion and it isn't that expensive.

The last week or so (with the exception of Thurs & Fri) have been filled with 30 knot winds and 20 degrees. I hate this stuff. *eek* Is it spring yet?

I haven't flown since December 6th. First it was Holiday prepartions/activities, then it was snow, then it was low ceilings, now its 3F this morning.

*sigh*

Guess I'll go out to the hangar and shovel it out....again....in hopes that I can pull 782P out someday. At least I am getting some exercise!

Stay warm folks.
