You better not quit, Willie!

I am going to help you pound a rivet and then place a lien on it so you can't sell it!

Finish trim tab & empennage trailing edges.
Order wing kit & supplies. (Find money for wing kit.)
Install some form of shop heat so that progress doesn't have to take another winter hiatus.

And for all you taxpayers; thanks for allowing me the opportunity to bang away at many rivets for the military! ;-)

William,

I would love to see some pictures of your remote compass install if you have some available.

Willie, I am installing my magnetometer this weekend. I am doing it before the top aft skins are even on!

My AFS 3500 arrived today and I am wasting NO TIME!

;)

Glad to hear that you are sticking to it. You had me worried! I was beginning to think that there was going to be a wave of dissent with Scott doing the moonwalk and all.

Hang in there!

well after i got home i realized the lp4-3rivets i used have steel mandrels... :bang: and my other ss rivets were somewhat magnetic. so i drilled out the poppers and installed the pictured brass screws. YMMV..

Nice job William. Really nice. I'm going the GRT route so here is how mine looks.

im not familiar with the GRT installation but does you magnetometer not have to eqaul the head unit in pitch roll and yaw? i see you mount is level with the longerons my panel (7a) is mounted at 8 deg. so my sensor has to equal that.

You are correct, sir. The cool thing about the GRT is it has a software adjustment that lets you "fine tune" the system for panel tilt. This is done during initial system configuration.

that is very nice indeed ..i would have went with the GRT but the dynons seemed more in my budget range...which got blown out when i go the SL 30. but it does work nicely without the expansion module.
