Non-military flying names

DISCLAIMER: I have never been in military service, but I was in the State Park Service for a while. Be that as it may I am as far as you can get from a liberal hippie. I love the military and am a proud Navy brat!
I agree that it's a little silly to use military names when you've never been in the military. Frankly I don't think we've earned the privilege. So what about a non-military name?
Sure, sure, I know you are RivetBangers right now, but some day those banged rivets will be airborne along with all the other parts you smashed together to form a plane. What to be called then? Here are some of my suggestions
Van's Gaggle
Spike's Spooks
Hell's Nerds
Those Flyin' Fools
The Birdmen of RivetBanter
Homovolatus (my personal fav and no it's not a brokeback reference) or if in a group is it Homovolati?
I know there are some FAR more creative people out there.
