Hi all,
Well, I'm starting to get some tools together. Just spent abit of dough on the Avery site. Received my training kit from Van's the other day. Joined the local SAAA (Aussie EAA) and met some great guys. Looked at tools and made notes and started ordering. Should only be about a month I think before I order the EMP.
Can't wait to start doing stuff. I have been playing around with scrap metal at work in the hanger. Drilling and riveting and stuff. I'm really excited.
Oh yeah. Here's my new machine

I would rather have a bottle in front of me than a frontal lobotomy.
A thousand bucks! That's a great start! After some delay I am finally moving towards getting started myself. I am starting to get my shop together and my practice kit is next. So which -? is it you are going to be building?
Do I really want to get into this?
It will be an RV-7A. More space in the panel for stuff and the Miss's will be happy. Not as much C of G movement so I don' t have to worry to much when I take larger friends for a fly. Oh yeah, I have no tail wheel time.

Almost right. S-76A++ with Fully coupled auto-pilot down to the hover, 50ft, over water in cloud. Great machine. Love flying it. You can understand why I like EFIS and MFD's.

Hey Snap, I know what you mean. I just moved to a new city and was pleased to find a local EAA chapter with people who have built RV's. I also met other builders who have built other kits so help is only a phone call away. I have also gotten A LOT of great info from this site. In fact I have tools out on loan already! I have really enjoyed the preparation so far!
I also found and got involved in the restoration of a WWII WACO Glider for a museum in northern Wisconsin. We have one WWII vet there who flew on them during the war. He has some very interesting stories.

Oops...it's hard to tell unless you can see the inlets! Until last December I was part of the FAA certification engineering group that's responsible for the S-76. Took me a couple of years to learn the differences between the As, Bs, Cs and ++'s!
