Help - I've fallen & can't get up...

Hey all - time for true confessions...

I would think that a few of us get stalled on building sometimes.
That's how it was for me this summer.
Instead of putting in time pounding rivets in my garage - I spent most of the summer with my 13 year old son - who I only get see for a few months each year.
Now that he's back with his mom (on the other coast) - I'm having a hard time adjusting....
I hear my wings calling ... and the engine is mocking me (while taking up valuble real estate in my shop) ... yet somehow it's not quite the same as before....
I love building... but just seem overwhelmed at the time (I can't even imagine how PK does it!!!).

I've been flying solo - so maybe I just need to get connected with my local EAA chapter.
Any suggestions??

Lorin, I think it has probably happened to all of us. Sometimes it is good to take a little break (I have done it several times). Seeing someone elses procress pics or going out to my local airport and seeing flying RVs usually does the trick to get me remotivated.

After perusing forums for a while, I have seen this theme come up occasionally. Many times, a flight in an RV proves to be quite the antidote. Try and connect with someone nearby. I also would second looking into the local EAA chapter.

Yup, happens to me, a few times already. Once you are out of the rut, its hard to get back into it, especially if its been a while since you "finished" something of substance. The latest thing to snap me out of it was having a friend go through his first flight on an 8A. What a cool thing.

Definately get together with a local EAA chapter.

Lorin,

Life happens!!!

It's up the road a little bit, buy my EAA chapter (Livermore) meets every Saturday morning @8am for breakfast. There are usually about 20 people in attendance... feel free to join us. :)

If that doesn't motivate, you can always dust off the cobwebs by helping me rivet my wing skins on.
