Help me name my plane

Post by svanarts »

I did this with my RV-4 and ended up with 4-Ever! Now it's time to name my new plane. What kind of clever variations can we come up with for 7? Bear in mind that I'm a Christian gentleman and I like to keep names clean which is why I could not use everyone else's favorite name for my RV-4: 4-Play. :o

So far mine are:
Heaventh 7
7 UP
or my personal fav:
The Magnificent 7

Any other ideas?

Well, Patti is good at helping out with names. While at Oshkosh she helped me settle on a name for our RV7A. Thanks again Patti!

Now, with that said, I have no good ideas for a name for your 4.

Patti! Help!!!

(Just don;t give them my name.)

this is a bit of a stretch, but
the plane is a 7
-the seventh day of the week is Sunday,
sunday in russian is voskresenye
-which can translate to "Resurrection"

or forget the whole 7 thing and just call it Faith

The apparent double-entender doesn't sit too well with some. :) And is completely unintentional, really! I was going to call my 4 that for the very reason you said! Honest!

I liked my gold painted engine so well that I decided to continue the color to the fuse. I have pretty much decided on some bare aluminum in the tail area and the midnight blue as on the cylinders of the engine as a stripe down the side. That, with a pin stripe of silver gray also an ECI color. I'm building a basic 7-A, nothing to fancy I would consider what I'm building to be pretty much a standard RV. For those reason I have decided to name my plane “Gold Standard”.

That's a great name. This thread doesn't have to be all about me (but it can be if you want it to  )

Anybody else named their plane yet? Come on, it's tradition! These machines must have names!

uh, Sevenity? (accent on the second syllable)

I agree, planes need names. My 7A will be named White Trash.

Doh! I knew that. I shouldn't post in between working on other stuff.

I don't have a good extra name for a seven either.

I'm not trying to blow my own horn (although I do know the tune best). What I'm getting at is how something like naming your plane is fairly personal and how I came upon mine. We could give you a cool name but it wont mean anything to you. For instance “White Trash” is pretty cool and great art to go along with it. But it wouldn't fit on my plane (I'm not that fond of red heads). I'm pretty sure it wouldn't fit on your plane either, for one reason or another. It would be great if you do find a name here but don't give up on daily inspiration. Hey there's a name! Daily Inspiration.

 Nope and lesson learned. Nothing on Earth is forever. Actually I should have named it 4-given!

I agree that airplane names should be a personal thing. I just can't help collaborating. :)

Nice but... uh... kinda long. You see, I have three rules in life:

1. Never get involved in a land war in Asia
2. Never go up against a Sicilian when death is on the line
and
3. Never give a plane a name that will wrap twice around the fuselage... the long way round.

Ah but I appreciate the thought.

Thread revival:

I have tasked the grand kids with coming up with a name for our -7. but still have veto power and have some ideas of my own, and I may have found it.

Aurora, Roman goddess of Dawn.

In Roman mythology, Aurora, goddess of the dawn, renews herself every morning and flies across the sky, announcing the arrival of the sun.

Anyone else working on a name?

Mine is going to be simple, "Pappa Juliet", after its tail number. For some reason, for me, it just works.
