HA!! Thanks Bill! I like the dark side better. It was honestly just buggin' the H*LL outta me that I was now planning an "A". Like I said in the VAF post, it's just a matter of learning how to do it. I think I can do that.
Brad Oliver just emailed me, and has a new nickname for me..."Weathervane". I think it fits rather well, don't you?
As far as an engine goes...Um...

Subaru.

For the record, I wasn't going to bring it up publicly, but I am glad you did!

Too good, and TOO TRUE to keep it between us!

callsign

LOL! Good callsign!
Chad, Chad, Chad . . . You let me down. Side by side airplanes should just be nosewheel planes. You want a taildragger, build an 8 or a rocket. Besides, the plane just sits so nicely as a nosegear plane. I think people think it's a "real plane" when they have to step up to get into it.
Just kidding you. Besides, you still have time to flip-flop back. WAIT! Now there's a callsign! FLIP-FLOP! Definitely not as flattering as Weathervane, but aren't callsigns supposed to be slightly unflattering?

Welcome back, Weathervane! I suppose it could be worse... Weathercock or something!
Antony, is a DC3 NOT a real airplane?
The Globe Swift, the venerable Chief, all the old bombers, the C17, Lockheed Electra!

So Wiskey Victor, have you discussed this with the boss (read wife) yet? Seriously, I have planned the "A" model since the begining, but I do think about the tail dragger on at least a weekly basis. As I get closer to the point of no return I'm sure it will get worse
Brad, nice icon. The unknown builder?

Oddly enough, she's the one that pushed me back over to the dark side. We were talking before we went to sleep last night, and she said "You should build the taildragger, because I know you won't be happy in the end if you don't."

That did it. Choice made. If I know she's behind it all the way, I'm goin' for it!

LOL!!!! I think Brad came up with a good nickname for you Chad, I just hope it sticks in the right direction, that of being a TW. Build what your heart tells you. If it takes some time for you to learn to fly it then so be it. With that said, if you really want a Subaru engine then go with it. Don't let anyone here sway you away from what you really want. You are the one who will be flying it, not us. This is your dream plane Chad.

Another RV-7. Well done young WeatherVane, the emperor will be pleased. Now our victory is complete.

Thanks Bill, I do appreciate that! The strange thing is, is that I bring all the swaying on myself. I have one side of mind going in this direction, and the other side going in that direction. It'll work out to what I want in the end. No worries. I think I do want a Subie engine though...

We can't rest until the rest of the guys (are there any builder gals here?) are all building tailwheel aircraft too.
Oh... but without the Soobs. Not that there's anything wrong with that.

Right on Chad. But remember......
Now you must unlearn what you have learned. Once you start down the dark path, forever will it dominate your destiny, consume you it will...

HA! I love it!! Hey! Are you calling the Soob heterosexually challenged? Great episode! I'm a long time, original devotee, and still watch it everyday. Doesn't matter how many times I've seen it, I still sit and watch it.

You guys are just way too funny, and I like that.. I busted out laughing reading all of them. (especially CJ's and the Darth Vader picture/comment.
Ya gotta love a wifey who has a dark side too.
Looks like Weather Vane's gonna need one of my Tail Draggah's too now.

I was acutally thinking of having Vandolet (sp?) Industries as the manufacturor of my RV-7.
