Spike and Cyphergirl,

Thanks for setting up the board!

Although there are many resources available on the web, as a frequent user of several phpBB2 boards, I really appreciate the more user-friendly format of this forum. As the administrator of several boards as well, I also know how much effort you put into giving all of us a place to chat.

I just put my order form in the mail today for an RV-8 empennage kit. Although I cannot officially call myself a builder until I receive the kit, I guess I can introduce myself now. I have been flying for 30 years, and flying for a living for 25. The reasons I chose an RV-8 for my build project are mostly due to the utility and versatility of the aircraft and the straight forward, conventional construction. The fact that I have flown with Van in soaring competition doesn't hurt either.

Thanks again,

Pat

Welcome to the group Pat !! Its good to see our ranks grow. Like you I just ordered my tail kit (yesterday) and cant wait for it to get here. Ive built the training kit and helped friends with their RV's a bit. Our turn now buddy  Once again welcome, enjoy your stay, and bring others with you. We take all the free advertising we can get  Tell Van we said hello next time you see him ;)

Theres one in every crowd. Welcome Pat and ignore the trouble maker in the corner. :stone:

If it works out for you like me the first few hours of construction are sureal. It didnt sink in for me until I went over to a friends house and helped him pull the wings off of his RV-8A. Dang on there is mucho work ahead of us. Cant wait
