Sealant Adhesion Promoter

I havent seen this topic come up and had been researching it a little lately for use at work.

Back when I used to do metal to metal bonding repairs on F-14 Tomcat aluminum honeycomb structures, we bonded lap repair doublers that usually ended up exposed to the airstream.

In order to prevent water intrusion to the components, and to provide better aerodynamics, we were required to edge seal the repair doublers with sealant. After the sealant cured, we sanded the sealant with an orbital sander to fine tune the aero characteristics of the sealant on the repair.

Some cases when sanding the sealant, it would just peel off the component.

I was introduced to PR-182 Sealant Adhesion promoter to apply to the component prior to sealing.

This stuff is a really good product, and the sealant cured to the components almost as if it was welded to the surfaces.

Apparantly, from my recent readings, it is even good when the need to apply new sealant on top of older fuel soaked sealants.

Really a great product, and just wondered if you all have heard/used it or something similar.
