Young Eagles Program threatened

Post by captain_john »

So, I am not much for politics and laws. Politicians and lawyers rub me the wrong way too.

I do like flying and sharing flying with others. Especially children in the spirit of www.youngeagles.org sponsored by our very own EAA.

Avweb has an audio clip containing the recent NPRM to law move here:

http://www.avweb.com/podcast/files/2007-02-12.mp3

I hadmade a goal for my chapter fot this year and had planned on taking 100 YE's for rides in 2007. I am not sure how this change will affect my promise. I am close to 500 hours, but it severely thins the pool of possible assisting pilots!

Good thing the Feds are here to help us on this one, huh?

Tom Pober has a story on it here:

http://www.eaa.org/communications/eaane ... ssage.html

Well, I am bummed. Is this one in a series of annoying new laws that we can expect in years to come as aviation becomes scrutinized by more and more individuals?

What a bunch of PIRATES!!!

I've tried for years to have a good attitude about the FAA and believe their hearts are in the right place but this clinches it! I'm done giving them the benefit of the doubt! They are doing everything they can to stop GA in it's tracks here in the USA and I've had it!

Let's see -

1. Limit programs that introduce aviation to the next generation of pilots.

2. Make flying so expensive that only the super rich can afford the gas and user fees to fly to breakfast on Saturday morning.

3. Set up user fees for ATC use so the GA instrument pilots stop practicing approaches and crash the next time they have to file and fly in actual IMC.

Sounds like a GREAT plan to me! What a bunch a idiots!

I believe you can still make comments to the NMPR. Do so immediately! They haven't made it final and are catching a lot of flack over their proposal. We can still make a difference. Notify your senators and congressmen of what is going on with the FAA (Federal Anti Aviation).

I sent letters this week and would encourage eveyone to do so. Maybe if they hear from enough of us it wil make a difference.
