Hello
Hello
Love the layout of this forum. For years I have been flying the standard rental Cessnas. I say standard but none of them have really met my standards. So a friend, a local flight instructor suggested I build an aircraft perhaps an RV-9A and as just so happened he had a kit he had bought in year 2000 that was still in the box. I have no mechanical abilities and the thought of building an aircraft was scarry. Let me say this if it was not for the pre punched kits I would never have taken on the project but here I am just now finishing my tail #90297 the learning curve has been steep but the slope is leveling off. The 9 fits my flying style and I love the idea that I can adapt powerplant avionics etc.. to fit my needs without the tremendous cost and complications of a certificated aircraft. So if you are
ever at Westover field near Jackson CA. stop by and see my progress. D. Munz

Very cool! What hangar might I find you in? I'm based down at Oakdale (O27) and you're more than welcome to drop in on us. Especially the EAA meetings where we serve pancake breakfasts when the weather turns nice. We meet second Saturday of every month. Otherwise I'm in hangar 108 and a fellow RV builder is always welcome! Even wannabe builders are welcome

Hi Guest (you gotta getta handle!), the vertical was the one part of my kit that was already completed when I got it. I had to redo a few things due to workmanship issues. Anyway, I'm not sure it was comprised of pre-punched parts or not. Everything else in my empennage has been pre-punched, and it really works well. Hats off to Van's for employing such an innovative technology.
