Taking my instrument written Wednesday afternoon.
Wish me luck!
I took and passed this thing back in the early 90's but never progressed with my flight training. Don't know why but it seems harder now. I must be getting old.

I know EXACTLY what you mean by having to retake it. I let my instrument written expire several years ago as well, and ended up taking it again 6 months after it expired, then got the rating within three months after. Got exact same score on the second written...
Letting it expire and having to get thru it again is GREAT motivation to get the rating DONE!!
Good luck! You'll be fine!

Good luck on getting the rating, I got mine one year ago this month, I'm so glad I did. There is no doubt it makes you a better pilot just going through the process.

I agree with 90% of my flight training completed for the instrument rating. My instructor keeps saying "get that written out of the way, your almost ready!"
The instrument training is priceless in my opinion, whether or not you plan to really use it.
I passed!

Congrats
Act professional during the ride, don't let something small bug you for the rest of the ride if it doesn't go perfect, the inspector is there is make sure you are safe and meet some reasonable level ability. In almost all cases, the person giving you the ride wants you to pass as much as you do and may even nudge you along if they see something not going just right. Good luck with the rest of your training and ride.
