Hello everyone, My name is Craig and im adicted to flying
I have been a pilot for about 20 years. I bought my first plane 3 years ago and reciently got involved with some of the maintenance on it (1977 Cessna R172K Hawk XP 210 HP). I have discovered that I really like working on planes so much so that my wife and I have decided to build one.
Personally I have setteled on building an RV-8 but my wife is thinking she wants an RV-9. Is there anyone in the NY/NJ/ area that has an 8 that we can come out to look at?
Welcome Craig. You should have no problems finding an 8 in that area as there are lots of them around. Finding a 9 might be a bit more difficult though.
Welcome Hang around and have some fun!!

Welcome Craig! I really like the comment "my wife and I have decided to build one". Having that kind of consensus already is a formula for success no matter which model you choose.
Welcome aboard Craig! Good to have another builder to share with. Maybe you should look at the 7 that way your wife gets the side-by-side and you still get some aerobatic capability for fun. Regardless of which one you choose you will not be disapointed. All of the RV's I've flown in have bee ngreat airplanes. I have not had the opportunity to fly in a 9 yet, maybe someday.
If you can make it to Osh next month you could try them all on for size in one spot and look at a gazilion different versions of what peopl think an RV should be. Sure helps with the decision making.
Have fun!

I really lucked out when I married her. She has put up with me and my adventures for 30 years, we already know we work well together on big projects since we built out house together.
For the first 15 years of flying she was very so so about it. over the last 5 years she really started to enjoy flying especially meeting and talking with other pilots.
Tonight we are going to try pounding some rivits together by puting together the practice kit
Hi Craig! Great to see a new-to-us face (so to speak) here at RB! Ask ANYTHING you like here! Someone has the answer! Good luck finding the right RV for you, post lots of pics!
