Strawberry Pancake Breakfast

Post by papakeith »

I thought I'd throw this out there.
This Saturday, July 14th, we at EAA Chapter 1363 are holding our annual "Strawberry Pancake Breakfast Fly-In" at Richmond Airport in R.I. Why not fly/drive over and join us for a fun time with great food!! This is a good way to warm up for Oshkosh too! TAILDRAGGERS WELCOME!

I know that Captain John is planning on flying down. I'll be the big man at the grill. Hope to see you there.

PK, are you using the recalled pancake batter they are talking about on the news?

Hey, yesterday I met the guy from your chapter who is building the 601 Zodiac.

See you and Noah tomorrow!

Hmmm... network migration at The Modesto Bee at 6:00am PST out to the airplane and up in the air by 8:00am PST. Add about a 13 hour flight to RI. Add 3 hours for the time difference.

I guess I won't be able to make it. :( I may have to fly over to the Waffle House at Los Banos insted. :)

Keith, Noah,

Great Strawberry Pancakes, Great flying weather, Awesome Balloon display. I can't wait until the next one.

Bummer that guy taxied out onto the runway as I was about to make a nice low pass. :bang: I had announced it on the radio, but guess he didn't hear it. I ended up aborting and decided against another try.

What news station was there doing all the filming?

Was it WPRI 10?

I can't find anything about it anywhere on the web.

I would really like to see something about it on the air!

Pancake Breakfast

Post by clreding »

Dave I sure hope it wasnt me who taxied out on you, it wasnt a cessna was it?? :o
Anyway missed you guys, Marylynn and I got there around 10:30 or so, the pancakes were great, got the tee shirt :).

:P What an awesome day of flying. After we left the breakfast we zipped over to Groton and picked up 4 Clambake buckets at Abbots then flew to Blueberry field for a pig and lobster dinner. Its been a long time since I landed on a grass strip with trees at both ends, sweaty palms :). Finally got to the home base in NJ just after dark, what a wonderful day :)

Couldn't really tell if it was a Cessna or not, only that it was a white high wing. No biggie if it was, I was just surprised that whoever it was didn't hear my radio call for the low approach down 11 before they taxied into position for take-off on 29.

I figure from the angle, the high wing could not have seen me coming when they were facing south before getting on the runway. In any event, no big deal, just an observation.
