Group buy update??????

Post by tshort »

I was surfing over on the other site and saw the post with the above tag line ... CJ had reply #2, but when I clicked on it there was nothing ... gone ... ?

A few minutes later, there is a new reply.

Did you get censored, CJ ? :? :?

Just wondering ...

You seen that?!?

He was SO FAST on the trigger, I couldn't believe it!

Bang! The first reply was gone, the I typed a second one.

BANG! That one was gone just as quickly!

He is sore, I think!

I just want to help out everyone. Once again, no good deed goes unpunished!

Good timing, I guess. Just surfing while watching this rainy monday night game.

I saw you had a reply timed 9:something, and was curious if you mentioned this site; however, when I clicked on the thread, it was GONE! Then I saw your "I get the picture" post, and I figured something was up...

Stein is describing something coming this week on an "electrically oriented" thing, "not a big piece of avionic equipment".... He's a good guy so I'll be interested.

How about someone set up a group buy for the Andair FS20x7T fuel valve and the Andair GAS375 gascolator? I've been looking and Vans seems to have the best price (?!?!). I might wait until OSH if nothing comes up...

I've completely given up on the other site. It's so clickish it's not even funny. Like being back in grade school again.

Hey guys, sorry about the late reply. I have been "incommunicado" lately. Absolutely STRAIGHT OUT busy, ya know.

Anyways, it is really simple.

Doug doesn't want me advertising my group buys on his site when he has nothing to gain from it. Bottom line, my group buys are for the RV community and not for any one individual.

His site started off that way, but no longer is. He is strictly commercial now.

Fine, I just don't have a where-with-all or interest in finding a way for him to profit from my generosity. I am just not built that way.

I prefer to be generous to my fellow builders and make friends along the way. I work for a living and don't mix the two.

Good for him if he can pull it off. I think his greed is unbecoming.

You won't ever see me change my colors. If you do, please slap me!

8) CJ

P.S. All I posted in return that got deleted TWICE was a mention of the upcoming Lord engine mount buy. Basically, I answered the question that was initially asked in the thread.

Shame on me. No good deed goes unpunished on VAF!

...unless you are part of the "click"! Then we celebrate!

Hi Doug!

Well, I said it on VAF and I'll say it here. Once Doug starts modifying/editing user-contributed content on his site to keep his advertisers happy, its value to me is diminished - and I start wondering where my contributions will go next year.

Want some money, Spike? :)

Where can we learn about the Lord group buy? I hope the buy isn't hurt by DR's greed. :puke:

All criticism aside...
I appreciate that it took a lot of goading from us for you to "tell" on the other site

That is something I have left open for the future as I have zero intent to ever open it up to advertisers or business sponsors. Id probably close the site down first.

I very much thank you for the offer but its not currently necessary. Right now costs are very managable. Ill let you all know if that changes.

Sounds good. No rush. I guess you were just testing the waters over there then? :stone: :goodevil: :spit: :sneaky: :P

Bri, I wasn't testing the water at all, really...

I was just doing what I do. I was making a group offer like I always had in the past.

Dunno.

Whatever.

No problem.

Not sure who really "loses" as a result of this communication stoppage. I think we all do.

It is a shame really.

I never could stand the other board, and I avoided it from day one. This stuff might suck, but it makes it all the more apparent that this is so much better a group of people.
