What are you going to do in '08?

New year, new challenges ahead...what are you planning this year?

I've come to realize that my airplane will be done when it's done, no sooner. I have no plans to finish the 7 with any limiting timeline any longer. But, for 2008, my PLANS are to get the canopy cut over the summer, and start wiring at some point this year. Those two things (especially wiring) are daunting tasks in my mind.

What are you planning?

I'm going to mirror Spike here....

I need to finish IFR and finish my wings, and I think I'd like to have my canoe flipped by the end of the year as well. Fuse kit will be delivered week of 2/11.

I plan to work on my wing kit during 2008, beyond that, it is just too hard to predict how far into it I will get. All I know for sure is I really enjoy doing the work, and in the end, that is what matters for me.

My long term goal is to have the empennage, wings and fuselage (all standard build and pay as I go) completed by 28 Dec 2010, which is also the date I retire. At that point, I will have the funds available to purchase the engine and panel, and will able to work full time to complete the project.
So for 2008, I plan to complete the empennage and save enough money to buy the wings.

I've got some changes to my daily life coming, so I am going to be very conservative here, but I would like to finish the fuselage (kinda where Chadster is now).

My goal is to complete the Canopy install and wiring. If all goes as planned, probably even purchase my ECI Kit engine and build up.

My fuselage kit should be here by the end of this month. While I'm waiting, I'm going to finish up the wings and move them out to the hangar. For some reason my wife still won't give up her side of the garage!

I'm probably jinxing myself here. But I hope to have mine flying this year. It's not a goal per se, just a hope. It'll be done when it's done.

Guy
Almost finished with wiring FW aft.

1) Order the first section of my RV10 (just organising shipping right now so this is almost a tick).

2) Finish my PPL (sooooooo nearly there now, long X-country done).

3) Finally play for England at rugby (slightly less likely if I am brutally honest).

I plan on finishing the fuselage kit (sheet metal) and getting the finishing kit ordered. I think that means I will need to pick an engine :?

I'm awaiting the remainder of my panel/avionics to arrive from Stark. UPS say's it should arrive beginning of next week.

I've just finished insulating my garage, and all that's left is to get a hook up for the Hot Dawg heater. Then I can get back to plumbing some brake lines, electrical lines, and finish off my panel so I can rivet on the last top forward skin.

I'm hoping to fly in the fall of 08, but it will be done when it's done.
I'll have two sons who love to play baseball, and I'll probably coach both of them in the spring.
