Anyone going to I39 on Feb 23 for Dana's flyin?

May take a spam can up there like I did last year. Hopefully the weather will be warmer!

I hadn't heard anything about it, but that's a short enough hop I could swing it.

What're the details?

Hosted by Dana Overall at the Madison County/Richmond Kentucky airport, identifier i39. Free food, free tiedown, free lies, good friends and door prizes. Time: Light 30 to Dark 30. Contact, Dana Overall 859 369-7582 or 859 625-2844

Last year even though it was very cold and we had a 15 gusting to 20 direct crosswind, there were 25 to 30 mostly RV's some Rockets and a Lancair and then there were the few of us that had to ride in spam cans.

That was my first real strong Xwind landing in a long time. The C172 did fine, and of course there was a line of people out near the flightline grading the landings as the planes came in....

Kahuna and several others did some formation flying which was cool. The free (donation only) Hooter's wings were great!

This year I see that Dana plans to have door prizes.

I think I'm gonna have to be there!

Think I can con someone into giving me an RV aerobatic demonstration while I'm there?

I doubt any conning will be necessary...if Kahuna is there, I'm sure he'd be up for it!

A ride in Kahuna's Super 8 would be a major plus! He was there last year and he just test flew Dana's 7 so I would think he will be there but I am not sure.

I was suppose to get a ride with him over a year ago but when I went down to his home base, the day turned out to be nasty. I never hit him up when I was at I39 last year.

My RV-7A won't be flying until March or so but I plan on riding shotgun in Larry Helming's RV-7. I have been to all but one of Dana's flyins; this is one you don't want to miss.
