I used to tell people that 100LL avgas was about $1.00 more than premium auto gas. But recently it's been shooting up almost $2.00 more.
What gives ?? Auto gas has come down lately a little, and the avgas..she just a keeps climbing.

Although 100LL is over $5.00 / gallon here in Albuquerque , I flew 45 minutes with a friend in his 7a last week to KSJN. We paid $3.55 / gallon there. It basically makes it a free flight for us to fly to AZ to buy gas!

Our price changes with each load...goes up and down just like car gas. Price changes about every two weeks or so. How often does your airport get a load? That's what determines the price, at least for us. If you are getting a load once a month or so, you may have two increases in a row, while car gas is all over the place during that time period. Depends on how much it costs to buy at the time of order.

How it works is like this.
They refine 100LL once per year based upon a usage estimate. The cost is pretty much fixed for the the next 12 months barring the cost of transportation. You will see changes in cost as a result of this.
Soooo, with the transportation costs coming down, you MAY see a decrease at the fuel island.

According to AirNav, KAWG has 100LL for 3.69. I haven't been there but I know several of the guys in our EAA chapter fly there to get fuel. Gives them a place to go.

Ok, now try KBED in AirNav and see what you get...LOL..
How about KEWB, or KMVY.... I bet if you did an average price for the New England area...it's way more than that. Sucks to buy fuel around here...

Looks like there might be an advantage to living in fly over country when it comes to av gas purchases.

KAWG consistently has the lowest prices in the area I'm told. I rent wet so just gas up at the club when I get back.

Dave, don't forget the Massport fees for the honor of landing in KBED!
