Hey,
To introduce myself: I am a junior-year Mechanical Engineer at Vanderbilt in Nashville, TN. I'm a licensed private pilot with an instrument rating and about 200 hours of flight experience. I'm hoping to earn my commercial pilot's license this summer or early next year. In the meantime I'm daydreaming about building an RV-7 after I graduate. I'm also an avid motorcyclist, and interested in the outdoors.

Are any of you (or do you know anyone) working on an RV in Nashville, TN? If anyone has an ongoing project, I'd love to meet them, maybe serve as an extra set of hands now and then, and see if building an airplane is right for me.

Hey Kid,

Welcome to the group!

Sounds like your heart is in the right place! Too bad you weren't closer or I would introduce you to the ways and means of the -7 project!

You are on the right track. Find someone building near you and ask questions.

Soon we will have some flying planes on the east coast and we will be getting around in style.

See you soon!

:) CJ

I think Motorcycles and RVs go together. Welcome aboard. You may want to check out Ohio Valley RVators, they can be found on Yahoo Groups. They may reach down that far and are an excellent bunch of people.

Hey. Thanks for the support. I managed to track down a local RV-8 builder through the Tennessee Valley RV Builders Group. He's at Sun-n-Fun right now, but when he gets back he's going to let me take a look at his project and maybe get my hands dirty.

And yeah, Motorcycles go well with just about everything else worth doing!

What kind of motorcycles are you in to?
Personally I'm a Harley guy, 07 XL1200C and a '07 FXDWG. Would really want a shovelhead though.

I'm a sportbike guy. I currently ride a Kawaski Ninja 500R, and I'm hopefully going to get a Suzuki SV-650 next year. I've scheduled some trackday schools this summer, and kind of want to get into racing on a club level.
