Just in time for the engine going on this week, I received my Whirlwind 200RV propeller today. The thing is a work of art. I ordered it mid-February originally, and Greg from Whirlwind called me up in early May asking if I wouldn't mind waiting another month and a half for it since a prop with the identical paint scheme was damaged by UPS for someone else. Since I didn't need the prop immediately, that was cool by me -- anything to delay paying for something! In the end the timing worked out perfectly. Here are the obligatory pictures:

Correct me if I'm wrong, but the WW props use a McCauley hub don't they? Good hub...

You are correct sir! I believe the McCauley hub has fewer moving parts than the Hartzell. Also, I got a notice saying the periodic inspections for the WW props are not 650 hours - not too long ago it used to be 500 hours....at least WW is moving in the right direction! I feel kinda bad hanging the thing on the engine. Its so pretty it belongs over the fireplace on the mantel. Oh, wait a minute...I am single so why not do that? I first gotta figure out where to move the dogs playing poker pic that's there;)

I was one of the early adopters of the WW200RV. I had some of the early issues with the spinner backplate. Everything is now working great. The finish of these props is fabulous.

The prop is extremely smooth and the performance is unequalled. It is the only prop designed for the RV airframe. I have found the sweet spot for the prop is 2450 RPM for max speed and efficiency.

I had my prop balanced and it balanced to a 0.00. The guy balancing said in all of his years of doing props he has never had a 0 balance. It shows.

I'll definitely be putting one on my next project. In my opinion it is definitely worth the extra money over the Hartzell.
