After a month of work (with many disruptions), I finally got the cowl final fitted and drilled to the fuselage. Without a doubt this has been the worst part of the build for me so far. Give me proseal and plexiglass canopy's any day!

Sweet Mike!! That looks friggin' awesome!! Are you going to do the plenum or stick with baffles?

Thanks for the compliment guys!
Weez- I don't know how much more or less work the Van's cowl would of been compared to the SJ. I am guessing about the same up to now, since all I have had to do it trim the sides. All I have left is to install the induction rings which doesn't *seem* like that much work.
Chad- I was planning on the plenum, but I read about someone who installed it and didn't get any added performance. I am going with the standard baffle kit from Van's for now and saving myself the $500 and the weight.

Looks great, Mike. On the plenum, I've heard accounts either way - added performance and none. Anyone know of anyone who has done a plenum after their plane was built and had before/after numbers? Or two folks with similarly equipped RV's that did some comparisons?

Very nice Mike. I also would like to use the SJ cowl, but haven't completely made up my mind yet. It will be interesting to see how it works out for you since you will be flying years before I will be.
